Animal Health Systems Strengthening Project (AHSS)

Animal Health Systems Strengthening Project (AHSS), team joined the Fish Health Division of VSD under Fisheries Commission of Ghana as part of my monitoring visit and technical support to commence investigation into the molecular epidemiology of Infectious Spleen and Kidney Necrosis Virus (ISKNV) in Wild Fish Population of Ghana.

The aim is to assess its prevalence, genetic diversity, and potential role in viral transmission. The findings will provide critical baseline data for improving disease surveillance, guide biosecurity policies, and developing targeted intervention strategies to mitigate ISKNV spread in Ghana’s aquaculture sector.
